TSM Faded From the Upper Daily Volatility Box for a Clean 1R

TSM Faded From the Upper Daily Volatility Box for a Clean 1R

The setup

Taiwan Semiconductor pushed into the upper band of its Daily Conservative Volatility Box today, tagging the L2 level near $434.89. The Box had marked that level in advance, which is the whole point: the statistical levels define where strength is stretched and where the risk sits before any entry is taken. This was a counter-trend short into that strength.

Why the fade lined up

The near-term tape gave a push into the upper band a reason to fade rather than run.

  • TSM fell 6.62% on Jun 24 in a broad semiconductor selloff, with profit-taking and rotation out of high-valuation AI names.
  • A US International Trade Commission patent review hangs over the stock, with a preliminary ruling expected in late June 2026.
  • The next earnings report is due July 16, 2026, leaving the stock to drift on macro and headline flow until then.

None of that is why the trade was taken. The Box defined the level and the risk. The backdrop simply meant the upper band was a place strength was likely to stall.

How the Box defined the trade

The Edge Signal is the sharpest entry on the Box levels, the way a member actually takes it, and the proof is measured from that entry rather than from the raw model line.

  1. Price tagged the upper Daily Conservative box (L2) near $434.89.
  2. The Edge Signal confirmed the overbought entry, with risk defined at the $437.05 stop.
  3. The first target at $432.74 hit in about 29 minutes.

We do not lean on a single name’s win rate, which is noisy. The edge is the system. Across thousands of backtested Setup 6 edge trades, the Edge Signal entry wins 61% of the time at a 1.58 profit factor, measured from the edge entry.

The honest result

From the Edge Signal entry at $434.89, the $432.74 target hit in about 29 minutes for 1R, a +0.5% move to target with risk defined the whole way. That is the honest result: a clean target hit on defined risk, not an extended move stretched after the fact. The Volatility Box marks the levels and the risk, the Edge Signal is the entry, and Setup 6 is the highest-confluence way to put them together.
